Lazarus Legal’s story began in 1975, when Barry Lazarus started his legal career, a career that built its foundation on direct advocacy, no-nonsense advice, and backing clients when it mattered most. Decades later, Barry’s reputation as a fierce litigator and sharp commercial mind still shapes how we approach the law today.

Mark Lazarus brought fresh energy to the firm, combining global experience as a barrister, in private practice, and as in-house counsel for a major international brand, with a focus on practical, business-minded legal solutions. Mark’s work reflects a balance of courtroom skill and commercial strategy, always aimed at helping clients move with confidence.

Today, Lazarus Legal continues that legacy, working with businesses, founders, and individuals who want legal work that’s clear, useful, and built around real-world priorities, not legal theatre. Our office in Bondi Junction looks out over Sydney Harbour, but we keep our focus on what’s in front of us: giving clients the advice and documents they need to act, grow, or defend what they’ve built.

Barry Lazarus has been practising law since 1975, first in South Africa and later in NSW, where he has been admitted since 1991. Across more than 50 years in law, he has worked in private practice, run businesses as a founder and franchisee, and served as in-house counsel, giving him a commercial perspective that most litigators don’t have.
